Day 33
We awoke to another overcast day in California
At least we’re on the beach and have plenty to entertain us
Murph and I took a little walk to relieve ourselves and enjoyed the people watching
Clayton joined us and we roamed the shops and walked down to the peir with the ferris wheel and rollercoaster and all that
Fortunately this tour has felt the most like the three of us are a family and that’s always promising when you’re going to quite possibly be working with them for the rest of your life
Venice beach smells like cannabis
Everywhere
There are even a few “medical” facilities there you can legally acquire it
We got back to the van and decided it would be a good idea to play for a bit to make some cash
We set up shop across from the kush clubhouse and spent the next 45 minutes serenading people and taking in a good little bit of cash
Everybody always receives us really well but it’s always refreshing and rewarding everytime it happens
We took a bit of our earnings and bought some food for our starving bellies
After a break we hit up a new spot and played again
We did even better this time and even found a new agent
Randy, a homeless man, proclaimed he would make us the next big thing and didn’t even need a cut
Just wanted us to buy him beer when we got our first fat paycheck like when he managed Maria Carey
He gave us two numbers which I’m interested to call since he definitely did not have a cell phone
Tim meadows also passed by on his bike bobbing his head to our music
Clayton and I were both a little starstruck
There were some French ladies I had passed earlier at a restaraunt and gave a cd to since they had been at that same table allll day
They had requested an acoustic performance on our way back so we stopped to play a few songs for them
They loved it and promised us we’d be up on YouTube with the video they recorded
We made a few more dollars from the surrounded patrons, shook hands and departed
Loaded up, we’re currently on our way to Vegas, baby, Vegas
We figured it best to leave California on a good night
We’ll be back in august
We expects better reception
