Day 18
The sun in metamora, IL woke us up just outside Johnny’s Coffee House.
We gathered our things and wandered inside to set up shop.
First things first, Johnny’s Coffee House is owned by the coolest, sweetest, most generous venue owner ever.
Erin Schrier
Both her and the whole Schrier family are great
Murph, a girl that worked there, Kate, and I played some very intense games of jenga
Someones breath knocked over the last tower it was so tall
Guess who was also a wonderful source or entertainment
I also had one of the smaller Schrier’s share some of her tasty McDonald’s fries with me
We backlined and soundchecked fairly early so there was plenty of time for mingling before the show
The show was a lot of fun with a good number of kids showing up
The crowd was really responsive and everyone sang along to avril lavigne
Hey, at least they sang along to something we played
Afterwards there was lots of chatting with kids and asking for change for gas
I also got challenged to a best 2 out 3 guess who match
After some very serious gameplay, I finally emerged the victor
The kids all cleared and we hugged goodbyes
Erin feed us all pb&j’s and hot dogs and sandwiches and provided us with an air mattress to sleep on that night
We fired up the projector and watched dumb and dumber huge and loud through the PA speakers
We spent the wee hours discussing ghosts and goblins and quoting ridiculous movies before passing out
We woke up this morning this morning to doughnuts and orange juice from Erin
What a sweetheart
We wrote her a thank you card and hugged our goodbyes again to take off to Columbia, MO
