wewillseewhenitgetswarm asked: i just saw your gq verbal (beatdown) and i do and don't agree with you. I do appreciate, because they give good ideas, but i agree in that it takes away from the magazine.

First day down. Houston definitely had some kinks to work out and was hot as can be, but the people were great and it was a good feeling to get everything going. I’m actually really excited all this info is gonna be drilled in to my head for 25 more dates. It’s just solid business info, even if you’re not in photography.
Look out for our big rig and our navigator I’ll be...
T minus 7 days until the start of tour. As much as I’m looking forward to this, it’s also a bit bummed I’ll be leaving my new home during it’s prime months. My roommates are great friends, and not being able to start a day off with bike rides to the pier and a swim in the ocean, means we’ll be having to make up for a lot on the road. Fortunately, when we get to...

It’s been quite awhile since anything substantial has been posted on here, and it’s time for all that to change.
To update everyone: I now reside in sunny Santa Monica, California. It’s been nothing but good times since I moved out here in February and I’ve made some great friends, my two roommates being at the top of the list. I’ll be leaving here, however, as part...

Come close
We’re surround by so much stuff anymore it’s often hard to pick apart what we’re passionate about. Maybe it’s just me, but I feel as though this bombardment of information is a distraction to derail us from our train of thought. Our focus. Our drive. It used to be we had what we had. We clung to it. We strived to make it great, make it something. Now shoddy pieces of art...

After pages upon pages and literally hundreds of band names, we’ve finally found one we are all comfortable releasing to the world. It has a lot of room for direction and growth as we get that all figured out, and sparks that warm nostalgic part of our imaginations.
Our time in the studio was amazing. John Naclerio is a great guy and was such an asset to hook up with. We put a lot of work...

fried goodness everywhere
we bought gatorades before we went in to save us a few bucks and then found out you can’t bring your own drinks in
fortunately the door guy said “well if you stick it in your pocket and i can’t see it, i can’t do much about that”
good guy
we wandered and entered lotsss of raffles for...
we bought some in ear monitors to start using at shows
it’s amazing the difference made when you can hear yourself
i always feel like a butt asking for stuff in my monitor cause i know sound guys have a tough job
and some places we play on tour just don’t have monitors
so this will be pretty sweet
now we just need to get back on the roadddddd
peoria, il was last night
we played a rock for the cure benefit concert for breast cancer and it was a ton of fun
all the kids from metamora/johnny’s showed up and it was a blast
great bunch of people
can’t wait to go back

Days 34, 35, um a lot
So we hung out in Vegas for two days
I love that place
And I’m probably biased due to the money I win everytime I’m there
But I think I’d still enjoy it regardless
We set out for Albuquerque and spent the night at a rest stop halfway
There were signs saying “CAUTION: poisonous snakes and insects inhabit the area”
Murph and Clayton slept outside
...
Day 33
We awoke to another overcast day in California
At least we’re on the beach and have plenty to entertain us
Murph and I took a little walk to relieve ourselves and enjoyed the people watching
Clayton joined us and we roamed the shops and walked down to the peir with the ferris wheel and rollercoaster and all that
Fortunately this tour has felt the most like the three of us are a...
Days 31&32
We woke up super early and hit the beach
Being super touristy, we walked around and collected shells and all that nonsense
We left for the venue around four and spent majority of the evening in the parking lot outside of the venue freestyling song lyrics about everyone that passed by and just generally being obnoxious
We have video, hopefully that will be posted soon
The people finallyyyyy...
Day 30
It was nice to sleep in a bed
Sandy was kind enough to make us lunch when we woke up so we filled our bellies and played wii until she had to head out to work
We stayed for a bit longer to pack up our things and then started making our way to LAX to pick up luke’s girlfriend
It was a six hour drive but we got to see the ocean at points and everything was going well
Until we blew a...
Days 28&29
We pulled into Oakland and hit up a Bank of America to put some money on the card for gas and dump our change bucket
This particular branch didn’t accept loose change though so I counted 20 some dollars out by hand
I had gross fingers after that
Apparently the van decided one of the first things we should do here in California is blow a tire
We pulled over and got it changed fairly...
Days 26&27
The drive to Reno was another very long one with not a lot of exciting stuff going on
We finally rolled in to my friend roxie’s house and said hello to her roomates since she wasn’t home
We sprawled out and watched notorious with them until roxie got of work
Megan and Suzie invited us all to play cranium at a friends but I was the only one to accept
Very fortunate that I did
...
Days 24&25
It took a longgg time to finally get to salt lake
We were fortunate enough to meet a traveling couple at a dinosaur rest stop
We gave him a cd and when we let him know our route he let us know the perils and dangers of Mormons and rodeo drive
He also gave us a nice little music history lesson
What a guy
We finally pulled up to kappa sigma and unloaded, introducing ourselves to a few of...
Day 23
Waking up in a warm hotel is always preferable to the van
We packed up and clayton and I stayed behind to help clean up our party mess
Luke called after he got to the van to inform us of parking tickets for the van
$35 for each space
We were taking up four
Fortunately before we had the chance to call the ticket company and raise hell luke let us know he was joking
I wasn’t so...
Day 22
The drive to Denver was quite frightening
The rain was so bad we had to pull over and catch a few winks till it eased up
When we finally arrived we ate taco bell and watched euro trip in the van
An old friend moved to Denver about six months ago and I hadn’t seen her in at least that long, so we went to her place for cold showers and catching up
Her plumber was supposed to turn on...
Day 21
Woke up from our slumber to the rain still coming down
Ran to the nearest hyvee and grabbed burgers to grill while we played more “tennis” at another park when the weather became wonderful again
Tour is a bit more fun in sunny weather
We drove over to the mall and checked out best buy for a bit before heading to hot topic to get details for the in store later on
Every best buy...
Day 20
If you know someone who books shows, please send them our way
Another show fell through tonight in Omaha due to lack of follow trough with our booker
But we spent the evening at a park on the way to Odessa playing tennis (or something vaguely reminiscent of it) and swinging on swings and having a grand ol time in this wonderful weather
So all was not lost
The road makes every one a bit...

catch up
after our very extended break
(thanks to clayton’s adolescence and need to graduate high school)
we will be back on the road tomorrow
though it’s never fun leaving friends and lady friends behind, the road is always a welcome reuniting
keep posted for all the shenanigans to be had as we make our way out to sunny california
farewell iowa!
Day 18
The sun in metamora, IL woke us up just outside Johnny’s Coffee House.
We gathered our things and wandered inside to set up shop.
First things first, Johnny’s Coffee House is owned by the coolest, sweetest, most generous venue owner ever.
Erin Schrier
Both her and the whole Schrier family are great
Murph, a girl that worked there, Kate, and I played some very intense games of...
Day 17
11 hours of sleep
Beautiful
We shook out the grogginess with some vitamin waters and invaded the local pizza hit for a lunch buffet
After some full bellies and a few episodes of home improvement, we went to check out goodwill
We grabbed a few unneccesary neccesities and headed into the van with the smell of many a used thing about us
Cary is a little place and felt a bit too much like...
